And nothing is truer than that truth. =)
Chinese New Year is back, and we're celebrating.
Just to make sure no-one is left out, everyone gets a few days off school and work, just so we can go around and meet people we occasionally see, or just so some of us can have a nice time at home or be with family, go to the shops, finish that book we've left alone for a while.
The Lion Dances and Fireworks are set off to scare away evil spirits, another way for us to feel that this year, this new Rabbit year, will be ours.
Oranges and candies are set out, just mere seconds before all the children arrive in swarms, and it all disappears in exchange for laughter and smiles, which brings smiles to faces of others too.
As usual, we wish health and wealth to others, hoping that they truly have a good year, even if we hardly hear from them because sometimes, no news is good news.
Karaoke machines are cranked up, filling numerous places with the little traditional tunes and of course the more upbeat ones too. Peals of laughter combined with the thunderous clapping and hollers just boost the already festive atmosphere, making things better.
Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
xoxo
